Considering the Abortion Pill?

The abortion pill is FDA-approved for use up to 10 weeks (70 days) after the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). An ultrasound can determine how far along you are, if the pregnancy is viable, and give you the information you need to plan your next steps. We can also provide more information about your options and the pregnancy resources and access to aid available to women in New Hampshire, Vermont and New York.

For your health and safety, an ultrasound should be performed prior to an abortion. While we do not provide abortion services, we can make sure you have the services you need before you decide or plan a trip out of state.

Pre-Abortion Safety Checklist

  1. Is the pregnancy viable? A positive pregnancy test is an indicator of pregnancy, not a confirmation. Before you pay for an abortion, rule out a naturally occurring miscarriage.

  2. Is the pregnancy occurring in the uterus? It's important to rule out an ectopic pregnancy before you take any medication or before a procedure.

  3. Have you been tested for STDs? If you are considering an abortion procedure, ruling out an STI can help prevent future complications caused by an untreated infection.

  4. Do you know your Rh factor? This can determine if you need a RhoGAM shot after an abortion is complete.

  5. Do you know how far along you are? This information determines the type of abortion and the cost of an abortion. We can provide an ultrasound that will determine the gestational age of your pregnancy free of charge.
